Michael Steinberg

Michael Steinberg’s memoir, Still Pitching, won the 2003 ForeWord Magazine/Independent Press Award for Memoir/Autobiography of the Year. In addition, he’s written, co-written, and/or edited four other books and a stage play. An anthology, The Fourth Genre: Contemporary Writers of/on Creative Nonfiction (Longman/Allyn and Bacon), is now in a fourth edition. He’s also the founding editor of the literary journal, Fourth Genre: Explorations in Nonfiction. Steinberg has been a visiting writer and has taught seminars and workshops at many colleges and universities, as well as at national and international writers’ conferences—the most recent of which are the McGhee Summer Writing Program at NYU, the Geneva (Switzerland) Writer’s Conference, the Paris Writers’ Conference, and the Prague Summer Writing Program. Currently, he’s Writer-in-Residence in the Pine Manor College/Solstice Low-Residency M.F.A. Program.
