Eva Saulitis

Eva Saulitis is the author of Leaving Resurrection (Red Hen Press, 2008), a collection of essays. Her poems and essays have appeared in many literary magazines, including Northwest Review, Prairie Schooner, Quarterly West, Crazyhorse, Cimarron Review, Seattle Review, Carnet de Route, Sow's Ear Poetry Review and several anthologies, including Home Ground: Language for an American Landscape, edited by Barry Lopez. She is the recipient of writing fellowships from the Island Institute, the Rasmuson Foundation and the Alaska State Council on the Arts. She is an essayist, poet and biologist, and teaches creative writing and English at UAA's Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College. For the past 20 years she has studied killer whales in Prince William Sound.
