Holly Hughes

Holly J. Hughes is co-author of The Pen and The Bell: Mindful Writing in a Busy World, editor of the award-winning anthology, Beyond Forgetting: Poetry and Prose about Alzheimer’s Disease and author ofthe prize-winning chapbook Boxing the Compass. Her collection of poems Sailing by Ravens is forthcoming in 2014. A graduate of the Pacific Lutheran University MFA program and a recipient of an Artist Trust Fellowship, her poems and essays have appeared in a variety of anthologies and literary magazines and have been nominated for a Pushcart prize. In addition to teaching writing at Edmonds Community College for more than 20 years, she has also taught writing workshops at Edmonds Write on the Sound, Fishtrap, the North Cascades Institute, Field’s End, and LitFuse, among others.
