Tracy Daugherty

Tracy Daugherty is the author of four novels, five short story collections (most recently, The Empire of the Dead), a book of personal essays, and biographies of Donald Barthelme and Joseph Heller.  His stories and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, The Paris Review online, McSweeney’s, The Georgia Review, Triquarterly, and many other journals. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Breadloaf and the Guggenheim Foundation. A member of the Texas Institute of Letters and PEN, he is a four-time winner of the Oregon Book Award. At Oregon State University, he helped found the Masters of Fine Arts Program in Creative Writing and is now Distinguished Professor of English and Creative Writing. He lives in Corvallis, Oregon.
