Gayle Brandeis

Gayle Brandeis is the author of Fruitflesh: Seeds of Inspiration for Women Who Write (HarperSanFrancisco), Dictionary Poems (Pudding House), The Book of Dead Birds (HarperCollins), which won Barbara Kingsolver's Bellwether Prize for Fiction in Support of a Literature of Social Change, and her latest novel, Self Storage (Ballantine). As a teacher and activist, she was named a Writer Who Makes a Difference by The Writer Magazine. She lives in Riverside, Calif., with her husband and two teenage children.
