Jennifer PooleySenior Editor Jennifer Pooley has been with HarperCollins imprint William Morrow for over eleven years. Drawn in particular to voice driven literary fiction and memoir, she especially loves narratives that allow the reader to experience the world through a distinctly new prism. Jennifer is very interested in expanding her list of upmarket fiction with novelists who embrace high concepts who explore women’s friendships/life issues, or who create page-turning armchair experiences featuring unexpected romance, or fish-out-of-water adventure. She also pursues a wide range of narrative nonfiction (biography, history, newsworthy, pop culture, women’s issues), and she seeks out gift titles for special markets driven distribution. Critically acclaimed and bestselling authors with whom she works include novelists Sarah Hall, John Searles, and Willy Vlautin, historian Daniel James Brown, broadcaster Sara James, and wildlife filmmaker Ginger Mauney. Jennifer’s favorite editorial experience was discovering Marjorie Hart’s Summer at Tiffany at the 2006 SDSU conference on the memoir's first ten pages alone, and she always welcomes both authors and fictional characters (such as 2009 Indie Next pick The Leisure Seeker’s runaway eighty-somethings) in their golden years.
