Nancy LordNancy Lord, former Alaska State Writer Laureate (2008-2010), is the author of three short story collections and five books of literary nonfiction. Her most recent book is Early Warming: Crisis and Response in the Climate-Changed North. Her work has also appeared widely in journals and magazines and has been honored with awards including a Pushcart Prize. She has an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College and has received two individual artist’s fellowships from the Alaska State Council on the Arts, a Rasmuson artist fellowship, and numerous fellowships at artists’ colonies and residency programs. She is an adjunct professor at the Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College-UAA, has taught as a visiting professor in graduate writing programs and is on the faculty of University of Alaska Anchorage's low-residency MFA writing program.
